Terms and Conditions

1. MRC membership is open only to residents of Malaysia and the MRC card is valid at MPH outlets in Malaysia.
2. The MRC card is a privilege card. It is not a credit card, charge card or discount card. It is non-transferable. Employees of MPH Bookstores Sdn Bhd are not eligible to sign-up as members.
3. A fee of RM20 is chargeable for 2 years of membership.
4. Membership is open to individuals only.

Renewal/ Replacement of MRC membership

1. The MRC membership is valid for 2 years and can be renewed with a fee of RM20.
2. Upon renewal, a temporary card will be issued and it will be valid for 2 weeks. Please produce the temporary card at the cashier point before payment to ensure point accumulation.
3. Original card(s) will be sent to you at your corresponding address once it is ready. Please update us on any change of address to ensure you receive your card(s).
4. Renewals must be done within one year from the expiry date or you will need to sign-up as a new member.
5. A fee of RM10 is chargeable for any replacement of lost or damaged cards. This fee is not eligible for accumulation of points. A temporary card will be issued upon your application.

Usage of MRC Card

1. The MRC card must be presented to the cashier BEFORE each purchase to record the amount spent. CARDS PRESENTED AFTER THE TRANSACTION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR POINT ACCUMULATION.
2. There shall be no accumulation of points for backdated receipts, special savings, offers, bulk purchases and sales unless otherwise stated.
3. There shall also be no accumulation of points for purchases of MPH Gift Vouchers. However, points will be awarded upon redemption of these vouchers.
4. Points will not be accumulated for dining at the Book Cafe, or when members utilize the Internet services provided at MPH. Points will also not be accumulated for purchase of event/seminar/workshop tickets and electronic and electrical products.

Rebate

1. For every RM1 spent, members will be awarded 1 knowledge point.
2. There are two point accumulation periods in a year - January to June and July to December.
3. At least 300 points must be accumulated in each of these periods to qualify for the rebate.
4. A 5% rebate will be awarded to MRC members who spend RM300 to RM999.99 and a 10% rebate will be awarded to those who spend RM1000 or more in each period.
5. Qualifying periods are independent of each other and points from one qualifying period cannot be carried forward into the next period. FOR EVERY NEW PERIOD, POINT ACCUMULATION WILL BEGIN FROM NIL.
6. Members are advised to keep all receipts for at least 6 months of each qualifying period in the event of discrepancies in the accumulated points.

Redemption

1. Rebate vouchers are to be redeemed within 6 months from the printed date. Any redemption after the expiry date will not be accepted.
2. To use the rebate voucher, kindly produce your identification card and your VALID MRC membership card to the cashier before payment.
3. Rebate vouchers are null and void upon expiration or cancellation of your MRC membership.
4. Rebate vouchers are NOT redeemable for cash. Please allow at least 4 weeks for processing of rebate vouchers.
5. Replacement of misplaced/lost rebate vouchers will only be issued in the following rebate period.
6. MPH Bookstores will not be responsible for any unclaimed rebates for previous periods. Any discrepancies of points and failure to receive rebate vouchers must be settled within 6 months from the stated period.

Others

1. MPH reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions as it deems fit at its absolute discretion and without prior notice.
2. Failure to observe the terms and conditions stated herein may result in termination of member’s membership.
3. MPH also reserves the right to terminate the privileges and withdraw the cards from use at any time without prior notice.

Q: What is the MRC Card? Where can I use it?
A: The MRC Card is a privilege card. It entitles you to benefits such as savings and special offers during promotions, pre-sale invitations, special rates or pre-registration for workshops and events, MPH sale days, mailing and free delivery in the Klang Valley (for purchases above RM300). You can use your MRC Card in any MPH Bookstores throughout Malaysia. There are regular merchandise promotions at discounted rates for members which will be advertised in major newspapers or highlighted in our stores. Do note, however, that in-store promotions may differ from store to store.

Q: What do you mean when you say that I can earn points while I spend?
A: Other than additional discount during MPH Sale, Special Promotional Campaign, Gotta Have It! selection & Birthday Special. We are rewarding our members through this special rebate programme. For every RM 1 spent, you will be awarded 1 MRC point. At the end of the qualifying period, (30 June and 31 December), a 5% rebate will be given for accumulated purchases of RM 300 - RM 999.99 and a 10% rebate will be given for accumulated purchases above RM 1000 or more. The 5% and 10% rebate will be given in the form of a redemption certificate. There will be no accumulation of points on backdated receipts, special savings, offers and sales unless otherwise stated. Please allow 3 to 4 weeks for the redemption certificate to reach you at the end of each period.

Q: What are the qualifying periods?
A: There are 2 qualifying periods in a year - 1 January to 30 June, and 1 July to 31 December. Purchases of at least RM 300 have to be made within either period. Qualifying periods are independent of each other and points from one qualifying period cannot be carried forward to the subsequent period. FOR EVERY NEW PERIOD, POINT ACCUMULATION WILL BEGIN FROM NIL.

Q: Do I have to fill in my card number or present my card every time I buy something?
A: Yes, you have to present your card to the cashier every time you purchase something from our webstore or the store respectively to ensure accumulation of points. Please fill in your MRC Number before you click the confirm order button or before payment. Otherwise, no points will be awarded.

Q: What if I forgot to key in my card number or bring my card? Or what if I only presented my card after the transaction is made? Am I entitled to the points for that particular transaction?
A: Unfortunately, we will not be able to accumulate the points of that particular transaction for you. So, to ensure accumulation of points, always remember to key in your card number when buying online or present your card to the cashier before order confirmation or payment.

Q: How long is my redemption certificate valid for?
A: 6 months from the date of issue. You can also exchange it for gift vouchers.

Q: Can I use the redemption certificate for redemption online?
A: At the moment, redemption certificate can only be used at our physical stores.

Q: How long is my card valid for?
A: 2 years from the month of issue.

Q: How can I renew my card?
A: To renew your card, RM 20 is chargeable for a 2-year membership. As your new card is being processed, you may present your temporary card (which is valid for 2 weeks) to the cashier for accumulation of points. For online purchases, please key in the MRC number written on the temporary card to ensure point collection before you click the confirm order button. You must renew your card within 1 years from expiry otherwise you will need to apply afresh with a RM 20 membership fees charged.

Q: What if I lose my card?
A: Just pay RM 10 to get a replacement card.

Q: How long do I have to wait for my renewed or replacement card?
A: About 2 weeks.

Q: How would I know the points I have accumulated in a period?
