Finding out that your child is terminally ill is one of the worst things a parent has to go through. It is a nightmare no parent should have to experience. Yet, it happened to Marhaini Mustaffa when her daughter Marisa was just four years old. She was told there was no cure for her daughter's brain tumour; chemotherapy wouldn't work and an operation had little chance of success. So she made it her life's mission to give Marisa the best life possible, which was to help her lead a normal life.

Remarkably, Marisa made it to her eighteenth birthday. She had managed to live much longer than anyone could have expected. More importantly was the way she chose to live her life. Despite her steadily deteriorating condition, she refused to be unhappy and stayed positive until the very end. Marisa's was a life well lived, made possible by the unconditional love of a mother and her family.

Advanced Praises:
“This is a mother's story of her love, hope and courage in the face of her child's terminal illness. I was deeply moved.” Tuanku Zara Salim, Raja Permaisuri Perak Darul Ridzuan.

“Touching, heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time.” Tan Sri Dato' Seri Musa bin Mohamad, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Universiti Sains Malaysia, 1982-1995.

“My heart ached reading this book, but I know that I could never know the pain in Marhaini's heart.” Yasmin Yusuff, Radio personality.

“This book is about the love and faith of a mother and the bravery and positivity of a child enduring a debilitating illness.” Mayawati Usman, Daughter of Usman Awang.
